Women's Lacrosse Falls, 19-7, at Lebanon Valley

Widener found itself in a battle against Lebanon Valley, but was dealt a 19-7 Commonwealth Conference loss in Annville, PA.

 
The Dutchmen raced to a 10-1 lead over the first 16 1/2 minutes with Hana Krechel and Mel Modrick each scoring three goals in that span.  Lauren Staedt (Drexel Hill, PA) scored in that time for the Pride off a feed from fellow senior Julia Costello (Brookhaven, PA).
 
Freshman Meghan Garvey (Landenberg, PA) scored three times for her second hat trick in the last three games with Costello adding an assist for a two-point game.  Sophomore Pinky Schneider (Moorestown, NJ) and junior Amy Albano (Columbia, MD) also scored for the Pride.
 
Senior Nicole Kumor (Yardley, PA) had five ground balls and three caused turnovers with sophomore Megan Dunn (Oxford, PA) amassing eight saves and three ground balls for the Pride (4-5, 0-2 CC).
 
Modrick scored five goals, Krechel had four and four assists, Bailey Benz notched three and three with Sam Boyce totaling three goals for LVC (6-2, 1-1).
 
Widener is home Saturday against Elizabethtown at 1:00 pm.  The squad will be accepting donations during the game for the Gavin Quigley Scholarship Fund, benefitting the only child of the late Seton Hill women's lacrosse coach Kristina Quigley.
