Baseball Wins Over Ohio Northern 4-2

Widener played in its second to last game in Fort Myers, FL and notched a 4-2 victory against Ohio Northern.

The Pride (2-5) gave themselves a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Senior Dennis Hocker (Coral Springs, FL) hit a two-run double and sophomore Mark Noyalis (Dallas, PA) hit a single that scored the third. In the sixth inning, freshman Pat Rodier (Mount Laurel, NJ) hit an RBI single to give Widener its fourth run of the game.

Senior Brandon McCloskey (Belford, NJ) received the win after striking out five and relinquishing six hits over 6 1/3 innings. Colin Weiss (Redhill, PA) took the mound in the ninth inning and gave up just one hit to notch the save.

Senior Brendan O'Brien (Coatesville, PA) had a day at the plate, going 2-for-4.

Widener will play its final game of the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic on Friday against John Carroll at 1:00 pm.
