Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Hood 4-0 For Conference Victory

Widener put together four second-half goals in a 4-0 victory at Hood in Frederick, MD its both teams Commonwealth Conference opener.
 
The game remained scoreless until Kelly Buckley (Villanova, PA) scored her third goal of the season just five minutes into the second half, with the assist going to Jenna Pedrick (Sicklerville, NJ). Less than four minutes later, Nicole Foschini (Laurel Springs, NJ) fed Stephanie Dickinson (Sicklerville, NJ) who then found the back of the next for her first goal of the season.
 
Buckley fired away for another goal past keeper Leah Norris at the 64-minute marker. The Pride (4-4-1, 1-0 CC) did not let up, however, as Patty Squicciarini (Lansdale, PA) scored a goal at about 73 minutes off of a pass from Alyssa Scala (Sayville, NY).
 
Widener put up a total of 25 shots compared to Hood's one, and had three more corner kicks.
 
Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) played the majority of the game in goal for the Pride and made one save. Norris made seven saves for Hood (2-7-0, 0-1).
 
Widener travels to play Arcadia for its second Commonwealth Conference contest on Tuesday, beginning at 7:00 pm.
