Women's Soccer Handed Tough Overtime Loss by Franklin & Marshall

(box score)

Widener played solidly throughout, but gave up a goal 2:14 into overtime for a tough 1-0 loss to Franklin & Marshall at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.

Nancy Epstein on the game winner got the ball and gave a great through pass to Selena Boro, who scored inside the right post for her first goal of the season.

Each team took four shots and both Widener senior Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) as well as Franklin & Marshall's Amanda McGowan made two saves.

Widener opens Commonwealth Conference play Saturday at Hood, beginning at noon in Frederick, MD.
