Baseball Sees Winning Streak End With 5-3 Loss to Haverford

Widener's four-game winning streak came to an end with a 5-3 loss to Haverford in Fort Myers, FL.

Sophomore Michael Riverso (Philadelphia, PA) rapped three hits, Sean Saverio (Horsham, PA) had two hits with an RBI and fellow senior Eric Von Stetina (Collegeville, PA) also had two hits.

Senior Joe Sessa (Broomall, PA) tossed five relief innings, allowing an unearned run and six hits with five strikeouts. Belford, NJ junior Brandon McCloskey (1-2) was tagged with a tough loss after being charged with two unearned runs in the eighth inning for Widener (5-4).

Widener on Friday closes its Florida trip with a 9:00 am contest against Coast Guard.
