Women's Lacrosse Falls, 9-3, at Goucher; Rachel Porter Nets Her 100th Career Goal

Widener gave its all, but allowed the first three goals of the contest and was handed a 9-3 loss at Goucher in Towson, MD.
 
The Gophers raced to a 3-0 lead in the first 10 minutes on goals from Becca Smith, Hannah Khin and Erin Reifsnyder.  Widener senior Rachel Porter (Medford, NJ) scored twice sandwiched around a tally from Goucher's Andi Lipson for a 4-2 deficit with 4:03 left in the half.

Porter's second goal was the 100th of her career.  She also has 144 points, which places her ninth in school history.
 
Khin ended the first-half scoring on a free-position goal with 1:57 remaining for a 5-2 contest.
 
Angie Goff (Monmouth Junction, NJ) also scored for the Pride (2-3) and fellow freshman Megan Dunn (Oxford, PA) made eight saves.
 
Khin scored four goals, Smith had two and an assist with Lipson also scoring twice for the Gophers (3-6).
 
Widener is home Tuesday against Gwynedd-Mercy, beginning at 4:00 pm.
