Men's Basketball Loses 78-64 At Arcadia

Widener held a one-point lead going into halftime, but came up short in the second half for a 78-64 loss in tonight's Commonwealth Conference game at Arcadia in Glenside, PA.
 
Overall, Widener (2-6, 2-3 CC) shot 44 percent from the floor (25-of-56), including five 3-pointers. The Pride, who held a 40-39 halftime cushion, shot an even 50 percent (9-for-18) from the line.
 
Bob Makor (Philadelphia, PA) led the Pride with a career-high 18 points to go with four rebounds, two steals, two assists and one blocked shot. Greg Lawson (Mount Holly, NJ) was a force under the net, amassing 14 rebounds -- 11 of which were defensive. He also had 12 points and an assist. Ryan Abel (Huntingdon Valley, PA) hit three of the team's five 3-pointers to go towards his 10 points.

The Pride shot 60 percent (18-of-30) from the field in the opening half, but the Knights hung around by hitting 50 percent (15-of-30).  Widener did its job on defense by allowing on 29 percent shooting (10-of-34) in the second half, but could only hit 27 percent itself (7-of-26).

Travis Saltus scored 15 points and Joseph Brown netted 12 for the Knights (5-3, 3-2), who shot 39 percent (25-of-64) from the field.
 
Widener on Saturday hosts Richard Stockton as part of a men's and women's doubleheader, beginning at approximately 3:00 pm.
