Men's and Women's Swimming Host Franklin & Marshall

Widener's Men's and Women's swimming hosted Franklin & Marshall tonight, with the men's team falling 58-136 and the women losing 86-119.

For the Women (5-3, 5-0 MAC), Laura Harris (Phoenix, MD) secured two individual wins, taking the 100-yard butterfly in 59.27 and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.27. In the 100-yard backstroke, Harris was closely followed by Annie Walker (New Castle, DE), who finished second in 1:04.30. Jennifer Barkofski (Norristown, PA) finished first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:19.71 and closed second in the 100-yard breaststroke, stopping the clock in 1:13.74. Hayley Conover (Egg Harbor, NJ) finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.68. Kelsey Lake (Ijamsville, MD) took second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.01 and was followed by Sara Leonelli (Vineland, NJ), who finished third in 2:02.35. Leonelli also took second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.62. Carly Wray (Ocean View, NJ) finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.86, just one-hundredth of a second off of the second-place finisher.

On the Men's side (3-5, 3-2 MAC), William Gelgot (Lebanon, PA) finished first in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:50.60 and Michael Lawley (Philadelphia, PA) took the 100-yard backstroke, stopping the clock in 56.37. Andrew Olchowecky (Philadelphia, PA) finished second in both the 50-yard freestyle in 22.84 and the 100-yard freestyle in 50.16. Vadim Belogorodsky (Huntingdon Valley, PA) finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.29.

Both teams from Friday, November 30 through Sunday, December 2 will be taking part in the F&M Invitational in Lancaster, PA, with the meet on Friday night beginning at 6:30 pm.
