Men's Basketball Ends Skid With 68-63 Win Over Arcadia

Widener put a halt to its three-game skid with a 68-63 Commonwealth Conference victory over Arcadia at Schwartz Center.
 
Senior Jack Brennan (Stratford, NJ) slammed one home with 1:08 left to give Widener a 65-55 lead.  But Malcolm Still made a layup with 61 seconds remaining and Khalief Trawick canned two free throws for the Knights with 34 seconds to go for a 65-59 margin.
 
Senior Perry Wright (Severn, MD) hit twice from the line for Widener with 30 seconds to go and Travis Saltus made a layup for Arcadia to make it 67-61 with 21 seconds to go.
 
Arcadia's Rashon Brock hit a layup with 21 seconds to go to a 67-63 margin and Wright made 1-of-2 from the line three seconds later for a five-point cushion.  But the Knights' Jason Thompson missed a 3-pointer with 12 seconds left to all but end it.
 
Wright finished with 18 points, Brennan had 14 and seven with junior Lamar Jackson (Philadelphia, PA) adding 13 points for the Pride (11-5, 2-3 CC), who shot 47 percent (23-of-49) from the floor.
 
Trawick poured in 13 points with Saltus adding 11 for the Knights (9-7, 2-3), who were just 1-of-17 from 3-point range that included 0-of-7 in the second half.
 
Widener on Saturday hosts Lycoming at 3:00 pm.
