Women's Soccer Dealt 3-0 Loss by Swarthmore

Widener ran into a formidable opponent in Swarthmore and was handed a 3-0 loss at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.

Amber Famiglietti scored in 22nd minute for the Garnet (1-2) off an assist from Alexa Ross. Emma Sindelar made it 2-0 Swarthmore in the 65th minute on a quick touch inside the six thanks to a feed from Megan Brock.

Amy DiPierro finished the scoring in the 75th minute on a great touch inside the top left corner for a 3-0 margin. Mariam Vonderheide posted the assist.

Senior Brittany Balentine (Medford, NJ) and freshman Jenna Pedrick (Sicklerville, NJ) had a shot apiece for the Pride (0-1-1). Junior Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) made six saves over 45 minutes.

Vonderheide fired five shots and Marie Mutryn did not have to make a save for Swarthmore.

Widener on Friday battles SUNY New Paltz at the Scarlet Raider Soccer Classic in Newark, NJ.
