Men's Soccer Cruises to 5-0 Blanking of Immaculata

Five different players scored for Widener, which took control early and rolled to a 5-0 victory over Immaculata at the Garnet Alumni Classic in Swarthmore, PA.
 
Sophomore Anthony Pezzotti (Newtown Square, PA) scored in the 18th minute to put Widener (1-1) on the board and junior Drew Hilinski (Perkasie, PA) buried a free kick in the 27th minute.
 
This capped a half which the Pride owned a 10-3 shots edge and took four corner kicks.
 
The margin grew to 3-0 in the 54th minute when junior Joe Brydges (Philadelphia, PA) netted an unassisted marker.  Junior Bahae Boutayeb (Philadelphia, PA) found the back of the net in the 59th minute off a feed from junior DJ DiPaola (Havertown, PA).
 
Sophomore Emmette Kemokai (Upper Darby, PA) ended the scoring for Widener in the 76th minute thanks to a pass from freshman Niko Karolidis (Woodbury, PA).
 
Sophomore Dan Price (Norristown, PA) needed to make just one save for the Pride, who closed with a 25-5 shots edge.
 
T.J. Jappah had four shots for the Mighty Macs (0-3).
 
DiPaola and junior Kevin Martin (Havertown, PA) were named to the all-tournament team.

Widener returns to play Wednesday against Philadelphia Biblical.  Please note the day change and that it is a 4:00 pm start.
