Women's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Tie at Franklin & Marshall

Widener officially opened its season by playing to a 0-0 tie at Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster, PA.
 
Junior Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) made four saves over the last 65 minutes that included three in the overtimes.  Her last came off a shot from Nancy Epstein with 90 seconds remaining.
 
Senior Brittany Harvis (Delran, NJ) fired two shots with junior Alyssa Scala (Syosset, NY) and sophomore Victoria Batter (Woodlyn, PA) taking one each for the Pride (0-0-1).
 
Epstein had four shots for the Diplomats (0-0-1), who closed with an 11-4 shots edge.  Amanda McGowan made one save.
 
It was the second time this season Widener took to the pitch.  Its contest Thursday against Immaculata was declared a no contest following a power failure.
 
Widener returns to action Tuesday at home against Swarthmore, beginning at 4:00 pm.
