Women's Lacrosse Dealt 18-5 Loss by No. 17 Elizabethtown

Widener ran into a strong foe in No. 17 Elizabethtown and was handed an 18-5 Middle Atlantic Conference loss at Edith R. Dixon Field.
 
The Blue Jays grabbed a 12-5 halftime lead by scoring the game's first five goals and had a run of 11 straight bridging both halves. Samantha Redles netted three goals in the opening half.
 
Redles and Katie Scheurich scored four goals apiece with Becky Porter, Sarah Cullinan, Bari Rosenstein and Emily Butler adding two each for Elizabethtown (9-2, 7-0 MAC).
 
Junior Rachel Porter (Medford, NJ) scored twice with senior Mellany Broomall (Clarksboro, NJ), junior Jen Harnden (Hershey, PA) and sophomore Alex Taratuski (Ambler, PA) getting one each for the Pride (6-6, 4-4).
 
Lauren Fidati (Forest Hill, MD) posted four ground balls, fellow senior Calina Walz (Medford, NJ) had three draw controls and junior Linda Salcedo (Media, PA) totaled 13 saves for Widener.
 
The Pride hit the road Tuesday to visit Eastern for a 4:00 pm start in St. Davids, PA.
