Women's Lacrosse Falls at Eastern

Widener gave its all in a torrential rainstorm, but was dealt a 19-9 Middle Atlantic Conference loss at Eastern in St. Davids, PA.

Eastern opened a 10-6 halftime lead as Grace Griffith and Christy Hild each scored three times. The Eagles then tallied five of the first six goals of the second half spanning 12 minutes for a 15-7 cushion thanks to three more from Griffith.

Senior Calina Walz (Medford, NJ) scored four goals and added six draw controls for the Pride (6-7, 4-5 MAC). Sophomore Julia Costello (Brookhaven, PA), junior Rachel Porter (Medford, NJ), freshman Amy Albano (Columbia MD), junior Jen Harnden (Hershey, PA) and sophomore Laura Kalbach (Lancaster, PA) also tallied.

Griffith scored eight goals with Hild getting four for the Eagles (4-5, 4-3).

Widener on Saturday visits Lebanon Valley for a 1:00 pm start in Annville, PA.
