Women’s Soccer Stays Red Hot With Sixth Straight Win, 2-0 At Delaware Valley

Senior Caryinna Yenchak (Ashley, PA) had a goal and an assist for Widener, which won its sixth straight game with a 2-0 victory at Delaware Valley in Doylestown, PA.
 
Yenchak gave the Pride a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute, scoring off a feed from sophomore Devan Doyle (Woodbury Heights, NJ) for her fourth tally of the year. Yenchak provided the helper on the insurance marker, setting up sophomore Daria Porretta (Hammonton, NJ) in the 82nd minute. It was Porretta's first collegiate goal.
 
Junior Brittany Balentine (Medford, NJ) took four shots to help Widener (7-1) close with a 12-5 edge. Sophomore Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) only had to make two saves in just under 82 minutes.
 
Dana Gentile took three shots and Miranda Schieler had five saves for the Aggies (2-5-1).
 
It is the Pride's longest winning streak since also taking six straight in 2007.
 
Widener next Wednesday visits FDU-Florham for a 4:00 pm start in Madison, NJ.
