Women's Soccer Makes it Four Straight Wins With 5-0 Triumph at Rutgers-Camden

Juniors Brittany Balentine (Medford, NJ) and Brittany Harvis (Delran, NJ) each scored twice for Widener, which made it four straight victories with a 5-0 triumph at Rutgers-Camden.

Balentine wasted no time, scoring in the ninth minute to give the Pride a 1-0 lead.  Senior Caryinna Yenchak (Ashley, PA) made it 2-0 in the 25th minute with freshman Kelly Buckley (Villanova, PA) notching her second assist of the contest.

Harvis scored in the 81st minute off a feed from Balentine, who tallied one minute later for a 4-0 margin.  Harvis netted her team-leading seventh goal of the year in the 89th minute for the final.

Yenchak and sophomore Devan Doyle (Woodbury Heights, NJ) each recorded an assist for Widener (5-1), which notched its fourth shutout of the year.  Sophomore Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) did not have to make a save over 83 1/2 minutes.

Leighanna Milby had one save for the Scarlet Raptors (1-4).

Widener on Friday hosts Wilkes at PPL Park in Chester, home of the Philadelphia Union.  The game begins at 6:00 pm, followed by the men's contest against Neumann at 8:00 pm.
