Widener had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 17-3 Middle Atlantic Conference loss at Elizabethtown.
The Pride fell into a 12-2 hole at halftime as the Blue Jays completed a perfect conference regular season. Katelyn Slade scored all four of her goals during that time, helping Elizabethtown post a 22-9 shots edge.
Senior Jackie Elliott (Upper Darby, PA) scored twice with five draw controls, sophomore Rachel Porter (Medford, NJ) had one goal and fellow sophomore Jen Harnden (Hershey, PA) added two assists for Widener. Sophomore Linda Salcedo (Media, PA) made six saves over 45 minutes.
Stephanie Kreis netted four goals with Megan Byrnes and Becky Porter adding three each for the Blue Jays (13-4, 12-0 MAC). Rachael Waldman closed with five saves.
Widener (11-6, 8-4) ends a phenomenal regular season in which it matched the school record for victories and reached double digits in wins for just the sixth time in school history.
The Pride are in the conference tournament for the first time since 2005 and already had clinched the number four seed. The squad on Tuesday hosts the fifth-seeded Lycoming on Tuesday at 4:00 pm at Edith R. Dixon Field.
