Junior Tom DeAngelis (Pottstown, PA) and Sean Saverio (Horsham, PA) each had four hits, and fellow sophomore Rick Kazigian (West Chester, PA) pitched seven strong innings for Widener in an 11-3 Commonwealth Conference victory over Lebanon Valley in Annville, PA.
Widener (12-8, 7-3 CC) plated three runs in the top of the fourth inning for a 3-1 lead. Sophomore Sean Saverio (Horsham, PA) lined an RBI single and senior Tom Connelly (Media, PA) ripped a two-run double.
The issue was no longer in doubt after the Pride, who closed with 17 hits, scored eight times in the eighth for a 12-1 margin. Connelly and sophomore Bill Hollingsworth (Drexel Hill, PA) keyed the inning with each getting a two-run double.
DeAngelis ended with three doubles, notched his second straight four-hit contest and third in the last six outings. Connelly had four RBI for the second time in three games and also recorded two doubles.
Saverio and junior Alex Oliver (Lebanon, NJ) each extended their hitting streaks to a career-best nine games. The runs ties them with sophomore Dan Sieracki (Cherry Hill, NJ) for the team-season high.
Kazigian (1-2) struck out five, allowing one run and four hits in his longest outing of the year.
Caleb Fick (4-3) was charged with six runs and 10 hits over seven innings for the Dutchmen (19-8, 7-3). Ryan Schwartz and Jacob Rhody had two hits apiece.
These teams Saturday play a doubleheader in Chester, beginning at noon.
