Junior Tom DeAngelis (Pottstown, PA) rapped four hits for Widener in a 10-6 loss at West Chester, ranked 14th in the country in Division II.
Widener (11-8) plated four runs in the top of the fifth inning for a 5-4 lead. #Sean Saverio# (Horsham, PA) ripped a three-run double to left for the tie and fellow sophomore Dan Sieracki (Cherry Hill, NJ) provided the lead on an RBI double.
But the Rams (29-9) scored five in the bottom of the frame for a 9-5 margin. Brandon Wolfe drew a bases-loaded walk, Josh Heyne lined a three-run double and Kevin McGrath added an RBI double.
DeAngelis notched his team-best third game this season with at least four hits. Saverio and junior Alex Oliver (Lebanon, NJ) each ran their hitting streaks to eight games, one game short of Sieracki's team-season high.
Craig Carroll (3-0) struck out six over 4 2/3 relief innings, yielding one run and six hits for the Rams. McGrath and Kyle Orensky had three hits apiece.
Brookhaven, PA sophomore Mike Pappas (1-2) was charged with six runs and six hits over 2 2/3 innings for the Pride.
