Sophomore Jason Ferrie (Royersford, PA) struck out ten over seven innings for a 6-2 win in game two, following a tough 1-0 loss in the first game in Reading, PA.
In game one, sophomore Rick Kazigian (West Chester, PA) struck out six and allowed just one run on five hits over six innings, but was bested by Shane Zellers (5-0), who fanned 13 and allowed just three hits in a complete game shutout. Sophomore Sean Saverio (Horsham, PA) had two hits for the Pride.
Widener's offense continued to struggle through the first four innings of game two. #Mike Villari# (Holland, PA) singled home fellow senior Colin Keelan (Ellicott City, MD) to tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the fifth. The Pride (7-6, 3-2) broke through for three more in sixth, and added two in the seventh.
Tom DeAngelis (Pottstown, PA) had three hits in the game, and fellow junior Alex Oliver (Lebanon, NJ) had two hits and scored two runs. Ferrie improved to 3-1 with the win.
Chris Ray and Chazz Losito each had two hits for the Crusaders (12-5, 2-3).
