Senior Jackie Elliott (Upper Darby, PA) scored four goals and sophomore Rachel Porter (Medford, NJ) netted three of her four in the first half, when Widener pulled away for a 15-4 win over Bryn Mawr at Edith R. Dixon Field.
Widener (2-2) opened a 10-3 halftime lead due in part to a 21-8 shots edge. The Pride also scored 11 straight goals bridging both halves for a 13-3 cushion midway through the second half. Elliott scored three goals in that run and Porter added two.
Senior Brittany Dippolito (Pennsauken, NJ) scored twice and dished two assists with freshman Sarah Hollywood (Mullica Hill, NJ) adding five ground balls for the Pride. Sophomore Linda Salcedo (Media, PA) made four saves in the opening half.
Hollywood, junior Mellany Broomall (Clarksboro, NJ), Jen Harnden (Hershey, PA), fellow sophomore Anna Geeter (Jackson, NJ), sophomore Emily Shumaker (Belcamp, MD) and freshman Stephanie McCoy (Media, PA) also scored for Widener.
Gabby Marangell, Evan Schneider, Emily Levine and Mae Carlson all tallied for the Owls (0-2).
