Widener's field hockey team invites everyone to show their support on “Stick it to Cancer Night” on October 6, when the squad battles Delaware Valley at 7:00 pm.
Widener will display its support by wearing pink warm-up shirts before the contest.
Did you know that 11 million cancer survivors living today in America? Donations like those being accepted at this game will help a wide range of cancer-related disciplines at over 230 medical schools and universities in America. Over 1.5 million new cases of cancer will be discovered in American in 2010, including over 75,000 in Pennsylvania.
More than 1.7 million women who have had breast cancer are still alive in the United States. Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women between ages 15 and 54. It is the second cause of cancer death in women 55 to 74.
