Women's Soccer Drops Tough 1-0 Contest at Lebanon Valley

Widener gave its best effort, but was handed a heartbreaking 1-0 Commonwealth Conference defeat against Lebanon Valley in its season finale in Annville, PA.
 
Lebanon Valley's Nicole Snyder notched the game's only goal on a breakaway after receiving a pass from Lauren King just over 15 minutes into the contest.
 
Widener took the only two corner kicks of the second half, but could not manage to find the equalizer.
 
Sophomore Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) made six saves in just short of 68 minutes for the Pride (11-4-2, 2-3-2 CC). Freshman Karen Thomas (Mullica Hill, NJ) recorded three shots.
 
Sara Drabenstadt took four shots for the Dutchmen (10-7-2, 3-3-1), who outshot Widener by a 9-4 margin in the first half, and 16-9 for the game.
 
Sami Young made seven saves for Lebanon Valley.
 
Widener caps off a season in which they reached the national top 25 for the first time in school history, moving as high as 21.  It tied the school record with a 10-game unbeaten streak and finished with at least 10 wins for the sixth straight year.
