Swimming Teams Invite All to Swim for the Cure on October 30

Widener's men's and women's swimming teams will host “Swim for the Cure” during their home meet this Saturday against Scranton.

The meet begins at 1:00 pm and all fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.

Widener's swimmers will wear pink t-shirts beforehand and pink t-shirts also will be on sale during the meet. The squads will honor cancer survivors affiliated with the Pride's swimmers and coaches before the meet.

Donations also will be accepted with all proceeds going to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

This brings the total of Widener teams who have participated in a cancer awareness day at one of its home games to 10. This includes our field hockey, women's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, softball, men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse teams. Our football team has taken part in Coach to Cure MD, which raised awareness of muscular dystrophy.
