No. 21 Women's Soccer's 10-Game Unbeaten Streak Snapped With 2-0 Loss at Arcadia

No. 21 Widener outshot Arcadia in the second half, but was unable to overcome to a two-goal, first half deficit and dropped a 2-0 Commonwealth Conference match in Glenside, PA.
 
Sara Volk-Perez gave Arcadia a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute, following an assist from Stephanie Edson.
 
Arcadia finished the first half with a 7-3 edge in shots with the last off the foot of Katie O'Malley. She delivered a crushing blow as her corner kick was deflected in for a 2-0 contest with just seven seconds left in the period.
 
Sophomore Devan Doyle (Woodbury Heights, NJ) took two shots for Widener, which earned a 5-4 edge in the second half but could not find the back of the net.
 
Sophomore Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) made with four saves for the Pride (10-2-1, 1-1-1 CC), whose 10-game unbeaten streak was tied with the 1995 squad for the longest in school history.
 
Jackie Law recorded five saves for the Knights (10-3-1, 2-1).
 
Widener on Saturday travels to Grantham, PA for a Commonwealth Conference match against top-ranked Messiah at 3:00 pm.
