Widener's men's swimming team notched its sixth straight victory with a 69-53 win over Cabrini and the women made it two triumphs in its last three outings with a 105-93 margin at Schwartz Center.
Nick Moore (Philadelphia, PA) won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.64 seconds and fellow freshman Michael Roth (Columbia, MD) took the 100-yard butterfly in 56.49 seconds. Both were on the winning 400-yard medley relay team in 3:46.25 that also included senior Pete Galick (Willingboro, NJ) and freshman Tim Merli (Jessup, PA).
Senior Matt Slomiany (Lansdale, PA) took the 400-yard IM in 4:31.52, Joe Deighan (Wyomissing, PA) grabbed the 200-yard freestyle in 1:50.19 and fellow sophomore Sean Corcoran (Newtown, PA) captured the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:03.72.
Widener (6-1) remains undefeated against Division III competition.
For the women, senior Emma Thrasher (Gettysburg, PA) won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:05.87 and sophomore Carlee Moir (Broomall, PA) took the 400-yard IM in 5:02.12. Both helped the 400-yard medley relay team win in 4:21.55 along with seniors Tyla Conicello (West Conshohocken, PA) and Elin Berlin (Stockholm, Sweden).
Kelsey Lake (Ijamsville, MD) won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.24 and fellow freshman Marikate Cook (Southampton, PA) captured the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:59.12 for the Pride (2-5).
Widener next Friday hosts Lebanon Valley for a Middle Atlantic Conference meet at 6:00 pm.
