Women's Lacrosse Handed 17-12 Loss at Misericordia

Widener rallied from a seven-goal deficit to tie the game, only to give up six straight in a 17-12 Middle Atlantic Conference loss at Misericordia.
 
Trailing 9-2 midway through the first half, Widener (4-7, 1-5 MAC) netted six consecutive tallies to close to 9-8. Junior Jackie Elliott (Upper Darby, PA) scored three goals in that span.
 
Freshman Emily Solt (Claymont, DE) scored 31 seconds in the second half for a 9-9 tie. But the Cougars (3-7, 2-4) buried the next six goals in just under nine minutes, including three from Nicole DeAngelis, for a 15-9 cushion with 18:32 remaining.
 
Elliott scored five goals, giving her 19 in the last four games, and junior Brittany Dippolito (Pennsauken, NJ) netted three. Sophomore Calina Walz (Medford, NJ) had three assists and six ground balls with freshman Linda Salcedo (Media, PA) making seven saves.
 
Shannon Tinkham scored seven goals, DeAngelis buried six and Kathryn Wallace made 14 saves for Misericordia.
 
Widener on Wednesday hosts Alvernia at 4:00 pm.
