Junior Colin Keelan (Ellicott City, MD) drove home six runs in the opener and freshman Dan Sieracki (Cherry Hill, NJ) clubbed two homers to go with his seven RBI in game two for Widener, which posted victories of 18-0 and 20-6 over Eastern.
Keelan homered in the fifth inning of game one, a two-run shot, as part of his huge day. Sophomore Tom DeAngelis (Pottstown, PA) and freshman Sean Saverio (Horsham, PA) each had three hits.
Brookhaven, PA freshman Mike Pappas (2-0) notched the shutout, striking out five and yielding just two hits over seven innings with one walk for Widener (6-5-1).
Andrew Reynolds (0-1) allowed eight runs – six earned – and nine hits over three innings for the Eagles (1-9).
Sieracki blasted a grand slam in the first inning of game two as part of Widener's nine-run frame. He also belted a three-run shot in the sixth to give the Pride a 19-2 lead.
Broomall, PA freshman Joe Sessa (1-1) gave up two runs and five hits over five innings for Widener.
Ben Jones (0-2) recorded just one out for Eastern, yielding eight runs, five walks and one hit.
Widener on Sunday hosts Misericordia at 1:00 pm.
