Women's Lacrosse Cruises to 19-10 Win Over Neumann

Junior Brittany Dippolito (Pennsauken, NJ), sophomore Mellany Broomall (Clarksboro, NJ) and freshman Jen Harnden (Hershey, PA) all scored four goals for Widener in a 19-10 rout of Neumann at Edith R. Dixon Field.

Widener (3-1) took control with five straight tallies over eight minutes for a 6-2 lead with 10:01 left in the first half. Dippolito, Broomall, Harnden, junior Jackie Elliott (Upper Darby, PA) and senior Grace Cavanaugh (Voorhees, NJ) all scored in that span.

Elliott and Cavanaugh ended with three goals and two assists each with freshman Kara Atkinson (Newtown Square, PA) netting one. Freshman Shelley O'Neill (Brookfield, NH) totaled four saves.

Alex Bohen netted three goals with Gabby D'Ambrosio and Emily Zazaba recording two apiece for the Knights (0-3). Kathleen Sinclair made 17 saves.

Widener opens Middle Atlantic Conference play Saturday at Messiah. Game time in Grantham, PA is 1:00 pm.
