Widener's late comeback fell short as it was dealt a 3-2 loss by Delaware Valley at the F&M Tournament in Lancaster, PA.

The Aggies (1-0) scored twice in the opening 28 minutes thanks to an own goal and a tally from Elise Dauber.

Widener (1-2-1) struck back in the 74th minute as junior Ashley Koroncai (Oreland, PA) scored off a feed from freshman Brittany Balentine (Medford, NJ) for a 2-1 contest.

Delaware Valley caught Widener moving up on offense and Dauber found the back of the net on a breakaway in the 85th minute for a 3-1 match.  Freshman Brittany Harvis (Delran, NJ) tallied in the 87th minute, but the Pride could get no closer.

Balentine closed with six shots for the Pride, who ended with a 15-6 edge that included 10-2 in the second half.

Widener on Saturday faces St. John Fisher in the consolation game at 2:00 pm.
