Sophomore Shannon Fien (Millville, NJ) and freshman Colleen Cormier (Westampton, NJ) each scored for Widener, which ended a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over DeSales at Edith R. Dixon Field.

Fien netted her first goal of the season in the 21st minute to give Widener a 1-0 lead.  Cormier made it 2-0 in the 53rd minute with her second tally of the year.

Jamie Matthews (Gilbertsville, PA) scored her sixth of the year in the 59th minute, but the Bulldogs (3-5) would get no closer.

Cormier took six shots and sophomore Megan Purcell (Perkasie, PA) made 11 saves for Widener (2-5).  Junior Dina Haritonidis (Upper Darby, PA) added two defensive saves.

Matthews closed with five shots and Marian Karnas totaled 15 saves for DeSales.

Widener hits the road Wednesday to visit Philadelphia University, beginning at 4:00 pm.
