4/7/08 -- Widener ran into the red-hot pitching of Shane Stein in suffering a 4-0 Commonwealth Conference loss to Albright.
Albright (9-12, 3-3 CC) broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning, thanks to a two-run double from Matt Kozlowski. Casey Lawrence lined an RBI single in the eighth and Jason Dunkleberger scored on a wild pitch in the ninth.
It was more than enough for Stein (2-1), who fired eight-plus innings and faced just three batters above the minimum. He struck out three and gave up only five hits and one walk.
Dunkleberger rapped three of the Lions' eight hits.
Drexel Hill, PA junior
Jerry Benedict (2-1) was charged with two runs and six hits over five innings with three strikeouts for the Pride (17-6, 2-4).
Freshman
Tom DeAngelis (Pottstown, PA) had two hits to extend his team-season-high hitting streak to 20 games. He is batting .458 (38-for-83) during that span with seven doubles and 14 RBI.
The Pride managed just five hits and could not overcome six errors.
Widener returns home Tuesday against Lincoln, beginning at 3:30 pm.
