Alex Neiman (Gilbertsville, PA) had three hits and three RBI for Widener in an 11-0 Commonwealth Conference rout of Lebanon Valley in Annville, PA.
Junior
Colin McHale (Wynnewood, PA) in the sixth inning blasted his seventh home run of the season, a solo shot, and Neiman followed with his fourth long ball of the year as Widener (23-11, 4-6 CC) opened a 4-0 lead.
The Pride tacked on four runs in the seventh for an 8-0 cushion. Junior
Mike Cahill (Spring Lake, NJ) lined a two-run single and Neiman contributed a two-run double.
Quakertown, PA junior
Ryan Walter (6-3) again pitched great, allowing just six hits over eight scoreless innings. Senior
Pat Santry (Newtown, PA) ended with three of Widener's 16 hits.
Andrew Pipkin (3-1) surrendered four runs -- three earned -- and nine hits over six innings for the Dutchmen (11-22, 0-10).
The victory clinched fourth place in the conference for the Pride. These teams will play each other in game one of the conference tournament next Tuesday in Chester, PA at 3:00 pm.
Before that, these schools close the regular season Saturday with a doubleheader in Chester at 12:00 pm.
