4/11/08 -- Freshman Alex Neiman (Gilbertsville, PA) hit a tying three-run homer in the eighth inning and sophomore Colin Keelan (Ellicott City, MD) rapped a go-ahead two-run single in the ninth, propelling Widener to a 9-7 Commonwealth Conference victory at Messiah in Grantham, PA.

Widener (19-6, 3-4 CC), down 7-4 in the eighth, began its comeback with two-out singles by sophomore Tom Connelly (Media, PA) and junior Colin McHale (Wynnewood, PA). Neiman followed with his third home run of the year for a 7-7 tie.

In the ninth, sophomore Joe Peticca (Linwood, PA), junior Mike Cahill (Spring Lake, NJ) and Connelly drew two-out walks. Keelan followed with his go-ahead single to center for the final score.
Freshman Tom DeAngelis (Pottstown, PA) homered to extend his hitting streak to 22 games. He is batting .426 (40-for-94) with 15 RBI during that span.

Brookhaven, PA freshman Kevin Culbert (3-1) struck out three, permitting just one hit over two innings for the Pride.

Senior starter Tristan Harner (Palm, PA) allowed seven runs -- four earned -- and 10 hits over seven innings. Neiman had four RBI and Connelly ended with three hits.

Kurt Heim (0-3) surrendered two runs and one hit over 2/3 of an inning for the Falcons (20-9, 5-2). Jordan Zimmerman had three RBI.

These teams Saturday will play a doubleheader in Chester, PA, beginning at 1:00 pm.
