(boxscore)

3/27/08 -- Widener permitted a goal from Scranton's Kristen Marquino 1:20 into the second overtime for a crushing 9-8 loss at Edith R. Dixon Field.

Widener (1-5) scored first in the first overtime, which is six minutes and not sudden death. Senior Tara Krasley (Collegeville, PA) had a free-position opportunity and beat goalkeeper Cassie Murphy with 41 seconds left in the first half for an 8-7 lead.

The Pride had control during most of the second half, but committed a late turnover. The Royals (3-3) took advantage as Diana Rocklein scored off a feed from Caroline Pryor with 54 seconds remaining for an 8-8 tie.

Widener in the second overtime, which is sudden death, had the first crack at victory. Krasley had the ball in front on the right wing, but her shot was snagged by Murphy.

Scranton ran it down and scored off the break. Erin Quinn had the ball on the left and passed in front to Marquino, who beat freshman goalkeeper Jill Cummings (Ocean Twp., NJ) inside the right post.

Senior Rebecca Corrado (Pottstown, PA) scored three goals with Krasley and sophomore Jackie Elliott (Upper Darby, PA) netting two apiece for Widener. Cummings made 11 saves with freshman Calina Walz (Medford, NJ) totaling seven ground balls and five draw controls.
