9/29/07 -- Senior Melanie Miller (Ardsley, PA) scored twice and three players had at least two assists for Widener, which smashed the school record for most goals in a 12-2 triumph over Penn State Abington at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.
Miller's goals give her five in the last two games. Freshman Caryinna Yenchak (Ashley, PA) dished three assists with senior Sam Hand (Millville, NJ) and sophomore Sam Baer (Lancaster, PA) adding a goal and two assists apiece.
Senior Laura Davidson (Media, PA), sophomore Ashley Koroncai (Oreland, PA) and freshmen Sarah Denny (Jim Thorpe, PA), Shannon Jakimer (Yorktown Heights, NY), Christine Langelier (Bellingham, MA), Amber Kiliti (Berwick, PA), Meagan Myers (Clarksboro, NJ) and Valisha Andrus (Pemberton, NJ) also scored for the Pride (8-2-1).
Freshman Rochele Jacobs (Northfield, NJ) made four saves in the second half after sophomore Alee Gunter (Maple Shade, NJ) had one in the opening period.
The previous high in goals was in a 9-0 victory over Swarthmore in 1997.
Widener, which ended with a 28-5 shots edge, is home Wednesday against Rutgers-Camden at 7:00 pm.
