9/12/07 -- Junior Doug Gabel (Feasterville, PA) scored for Widener, but it was not enough in a 3-1 setback at Wilkes in Edwardsville, PA.

Andy Curry scored twice for the Colonels (2-3), getting the first in the 31st minute off assists from Bret Osswald and Doug Moore. He scored again in the 51st minute as Sean Vona and Osswald provided the helpers.

Osswald tallied in the 52nd minute to give Wilkes a 3-0 lead. Gabel netted his second of the year in the 69th minute off a pass from freshman Brian James (Perkasie, PA).

Sophomore Marty Squicciarini (Lansdale, PA) made four saves and junior Bill James (Perkasie, PA) took three shots for the Pride (3-2).

TJ Baloga stopped four shots for Wilkes and Ryan Phillips attempted four shots.

Widener is home Saturday against Cabrini at 7:00 pm as part of a doubleheader with the women's team. The women's match vs. Drew begins at 4:00 pm.
