12/8/07 -- Junior Matt Sosna (Stratford, NJ) scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures and grabbed eight rebounds for Widener in a 92-82 victory over Valley Forge Christian in the consolation game of the Heritage's Dairy Stores Classic in Glassboro, NJ.

Widener scored 15 straight points early in the second half to open a 65-39 lead with 14:35 remaining. Junior Charles Jones (Philadelphia, PA) scored seven points in that span and Sosna added four for the Pride (9-1).

Sosna hit 9-of-11 from the field to help Widener shoot 62 percent (18-of-29) in the second half and 52 percent (38-of-73) overall. Jones had 17 points and six assists, sophomore Bobby Edmunds (Linwood, NJ) notched 12 and six with junior Nyere Miller (Washington, DC) adding 12 points.

Kevin Wilson came off the bench to score 24 points, Justyn Mitchell netted 18 and Michael Stayne added 14 for the Patriots (10-3), who shot 70 percent (19-of-27) in the second half and 53 percent (28-of-53) overall.

Widener returns to action next Friday against Wilkes, beginning at 7:00 pm in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
