Sam Baer's Goal Helps Women's Soccer to Fourth Straight Win, 1-0 at Lycoming

10/6/07 -- Sophomore Sam Baer (Lancaster, PA) scored her league-leading 14th goal of the season, propelling Widener to a 1-0 Commonwealth Conference victory at Lycoming in Williamsport, PA.

Baer's goal in the 20th minute came off a rebound, lifting the Pride (10-2-1, 1-0 CC) to their season-best fourth straight win. The tally ran her goal-scoring streak to six games and her points streak to 12 games.

It marks a school-record third straight year Widener has reached double figures in victories.

Baer finished with three shots as the Pride closed with a 9-3 edge. Sophomore Alee Gunter (Maple Shade, NJ) ended with two saves.

Jessica Bennett finished with two saves for Lycoming (8-3, 0-1).

Widener continues its three-game road trip Wednesday at Wesley, beginning at 7:00 pm.
