10/10/07 -- Melanie Miller (Ardsley, PA) and fellow senior Sam Hand (Millville, NJ) each scored for Widener, which won its fifth straight with a 2-0 triumph at Wesley in Dover, DE.

Miller scored her eighth goal of the season in the 23rd minute. Freshman Caryinna Yenchak (Ashley, PA) and sophomore Sam Baer (Lancaster, PA) assisted on a ball that Miller dribbled past the goalkeeper and walked into the net.

Hand's sixth tally of the season in the 65th minute iced the contest. Off a direct kick, she fired in a 40-yard shot to help Widener (11-2-1) gain a 16-6 shots advantage which included 10-1 in the second half.

Hand had four shots and freshman Rachel Kyprianou (Shrewsbury, PA) ended with three. Sophomore Alee Gunter (Maple Shade, NJ) closed with three saves.

Brittany Block posted five saves and Kyle Savidge had two shots for the Wolverines (9-5-1).

Widener closes its three-game road trip Saturday at Goucher, beginning at 3:00 pm.
