Rainbow Shaw-Giaquinto

    Assistant Volleyball Coach

Rainbow Shaw-Giaquinto is in her 13th year as an assistant volleyball coach for the Pride. She is responsible for assisting head coach Donovan Anglin with all day-to-day operations of Widener’s volleyball program.

Shaw-Giaquinto has had a huge hand in helping Widener notching more than 200 victories since her arrival, which includes qualifying for two ECAC South Tournaments and the last seven Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournaments. She also plays a key role at Widener in helping direct the school’s annual summer volleyball camps.

In addition, Shaw-Giaquinto has been heavily involved with coaching the sport at other levels of competition. This includes working at the Padua Academy in Wilmington, Del. as well as club volleyball for nine years. She also coached the Liberty Belle Volleyball Club and currently guides the U-18 Keystone Juniors Volleyball Club. Furthermore, the long-time coach has been a clinician for several local summer camps and winter clinics as well as the Nike High Performance Camp in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Shaw-Giaquinto graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and was a starting right side hitter on the volleyball team. She currently serves as the department chair for Physical Education at Padua Academy and lives with her husband, Tom, son, Gabe, 16, and daughter, Ireland, 13.
