Hunter Stevens is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Widener volleyball team. He is responsible for assisting head coach Donovan Anglin with all aspects of the program with an emphasis on overseeing the training and development of the middle blockers.

Stevens comes to Widener after coaching at several camps and competing at the collegiate and professional levels. His coaching experience includes serving as an assistant coach at a high performance volleyball camp in 2013 as well as most recently spending time as a court head coach at elite volleyball camps hosted by Villanova over the past two summers.

As a collegian, Stevens was a standout middle blocker at George Mason from 2012 through 2015. He accumulated 456 career kills and 345 total blocks, which ranks fifth on the program’s all-time list, and was named to the All-Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Second Team as well as the league’s all-academic team twice for his efforts. In addition, the former Patriot was a two-time recipient of the Uvaldo Acosta Endowment Scholarship and was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Stevens, who has played professionally for the Premier Volleyball League’s Chesapeake Rising Tide, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in neuroscience from George Mason in 2015. He is currently pursuing his doctor of psychology and master of business administration degree at Widener.
