Audrey Rucker is entering her fourth season as a member of the Widener volleyball program and second as an undergraduate assistant coach in 2017.
Rucker has served as a head coach at the East Coast Power Volleyball Club since 2014. During this timeframe, she has also had the opportunity to coach with three-time Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist Misty May-Treanor at her Dream in Gold Camp.
Furthermore, Rucker is the co-founder of the Julia’s Tournament of Champions. The event is an annual CYO volleyball tournament, which celebrates the life of a friend who lost her life to pediatric brain cancer and raises money for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Oncology Unit in her honor.
Rucker has also been actively involved with the Widener community off the volleyball court since her arrival on campus. She is a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the Communications National Honor Society, a team representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), an Apogee Scholar, an Oskin Leadership Institute certificate recipient, and Treasurer of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). In addition, Rucker formerly served as the public relations manager for Love Your Melon, and was a writer and social media director for Widener’s Odyssey.
A native of Downingtown, Rucker was previously a defensive specialist for the Pride volleyball program and was most notably named to the Middle Atlantic Conference All-Sportsmanship Team as well as the Middle Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2015. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in communication studies with a concentration in advertising and public relations, and a minor in professional writing at Widener and is on pace to graduate in 2018.
