Pat Gallagher is in his fifth season as an assistant coach for the Pride in 2023-24. He is responsible for the overall development of Widener’s post players.
"Pat is a great addition to our staff," Kintner said. "He brings a lot of knowledge to the post position after coaching high school for the past 14 years. He also has a lot of connections in the tri-state area which will help us to continue our rich tradition of recruiting local talent."
Prior to Gallagher’s arrival, he spent 14 years on the sideline at two of Delaware County’s top high programs, with experience at Springfield and Bonner & Prendie. His teams have never missed the playoffs, winning a Central League championship, a PIAA District 1 Runner-Up, a state quarterfinalist, and multiple state semifinal appearances.
Gallagher has also been an assistant softball coach for 22 years at Springfield, where his teams have won league, district and state championships.
A 1993 graduate of Williamson College of the Trades, Pat was a three-year member of the Mechanics' varsity football and basketball teams.
Gallagher resides in Springfield with his wife Jennifer, his sons Colin (19), Evan (17), and daughter Ashlyn (15).
