Lindsey Amadio

Lindsey Amadio, who had a solid run as a player for Widener’s women’s basketball team and helped the squad to two postseason appearances, returns for a 10th season as an assistant coach at her alma mater in 2023-24.

Amadio was part of a very important stretch at point guard for the Pride from 2005-10, a run punctuated by her two final seasons. She helped the squad reach heights not seen in years.  The 2008-09 team won the MAC Commonwealth Conference championship, competed in the NCAA Tournament for just the third time in school history, and won 18 games to fall one shy of a school record at the time.

The 2009-10 squad notched 16 victories and advanced to the ECAC South Tournament semifinals. Amadio ended her career with 238 assists, which presently is eighth best in school history, and dished 96 assists in 2009-10 that is tied for the tenth-best mark in Widener annals. The 2008-09 championship season saw Amadio score 120 points, dish 75 assists, and haul in 80 rebounds.

Amadio graduated from Widener in 2010 with a degree in business management and is still active with the sports management department. She is the founder and president of the University’s Student Sports Network and continues to be a member of Widener’s Sport Management Advisory Board.  Amadio was also a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society as an undergraduate student. She then earned her master’s from Widener’s accelerated degree program.

She currently resides in Springfield with her husband, Bob, and son, Lucca.
