Matt Poole is in his fifth year as an assistant coach for Widener. Poole in 2010 was a volunteer assistant coach at Drexel. He also has coached youth teams in Nether Providence and has his NSCAA national diploma. He has earned his USSF A License and NSCAA Advanced National Lincense. Poole was a four-year player at Virginia, starting 78 of the 83 games he played in. He helped the Cavaliers reach the national semifinals in 2006 and was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Tournament Team in 2008. He also was named first team all-state by the Virginia Sports Information Directors and participated in the 2009 Major League Soccer Combine.
