Andy Ricci

Andrew Ricci joined the Widener University men’s soccer staff in 2025, bringing a proven background in performance analysis, player development, and tactical training.

Ricci spent four years at Immaculata University as Assistant Coach for Men’s Soccer, where he specialized in performance analysis, tactical planning, and player evaluation. During his time on staff, the program earned Atlantic East Coaching Staff of the Year honors (2024) and developed 17 All-Conference selections, including nine First Team honorees. He led film sessions, opponent scouting, and technical training while also implementing set-piece systems that directly impacted game outcomes.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Ricci has worked as a coach at Penn Fusion Soccer Academy since 2021, guiding U16 and U19 teams and leading specialized training programs. His background also includes data analysis with PFF FC, where he has written extensively on how advanced metrics can shape modern soccer tactics and player development.

A four-year member of the Alfred University men’s soccer program, Ricci earned a Bachelor of Science in Ceramics Engineering with a minor in Mathematics in 2017. His academic and professional background in engineering, data analysis, and physics tutoring reinforces his analytical approach to the game, blending technical detail with player-centered development.

At Widener, Ricci focuses on integrating performance analysis into training and match preparation, helping student-athletes grow on and off the field while sustaining a culture of excellence.
