James Daugherty enters his second season as the men's lacrosse graduate assistant coach in 2018-19. He brings multiple years of coaching experience with him to the Pride.
Most recently, Daugherty spent time at the Virginia Military Institute, working with the faceoff unit. With his guidance, the Keydets improved from 52nd to 24th in NCAA Division I in faceoff percentage and AJ Krstulovic was named a Second Team SoCon performer as a specialist.
Prior to VMI, Daugherty coached for three seasons at the Cannon School in North Carolina where he helped mentor the team to a school best 7.14 goals allowed per game in 2017. Daugherty also has coaching experience with Top Tier Lacrosse, LLC where he saw 16 student-athletes he worked with advance to play collegiate lacrosse.
As a player, Daugherty played as a freshman at Bridgewater (Va.) College. He earned his BA in political science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May, 2017.
