Hayes enters his first season as an assistant men's basketball coach for Widener in 2021.
Hayes comes to the Pride after spending the past four seasons with Drexel as the assistant coordinator of men’s basketball operations. In that role, he was primarily responsible for assessing individual player performances, marketing the program to recruits and alumni, and facilitating practices. This past year he helped the Dragons to a 12-8 record, a CAA conference title, and the program’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 25 years.
Outside of his role with the team, Hayes worked for HoopGroup where he coordinated the company’s day-to-day basketball operations and recruited new athletes to the program. On the business side of the sport, Hayes also served as a marketing and sales associate for DMVElite.
The Bowie, Md. native earned his B.S. in sports business from Drexel in 2021.
