Josh Rapp is in his fifth season as a member of the Widener football coaching staff. This season, he will be responsible for the training and development of the Widener linebackers. In that role, he is responsible for the game and practice planning for the group as well as assisting with in-game adjustments and depth chart formulation for the linebacking corps. 
 
Last season, Rapp worked with a linebacking corps that helped he Pride shine on the defensive end nationally, ranking in the top-30 in the country at just 15.6 points per game allowed. Widener also led the MAC in defensive passing yards allowed and was second in the conference in defensive passing efficiency. 

Prior to working with the linebackers, Rapp was been an assistant defensive line coach for the Pride under Jason Henshaw. His duties have included helping with games and practices, film breakdown, assisting with personnel decisions involving the depth chart and recruiting. He has assisted in developing seven all-conference performers, all-region selections and one All-American who also picked up region and conference player of the year laurels.
 
As a player, Rapp was a team captain and two-time all-conference performer at Valley Forge Military College in 2009 and 2010. He helped the program win a conference championship in his first season and also served as a team captain a year later.
 
Rapp. who is a native of nearby Drexel Hill, earned his associate’s degree in business administration from Valley Forge Military College in 2011 and a bachelor’s in sport management from Widener in 2016. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in education at Widener.
